Remember life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a beautiful well-preserved body but rather an adventure in which you skid in broadside, totally exhausted, thoroughly used up, loudly proclaiming,
"Wow! What a ride!"

All you need is love. But a little chocolate now and then doesn't hurt.

What is it about life these days? The people who aren't present always seem to be more important than the ones who are.

January 2nd, 2017 — Grants Pass, Oregon

On New Years Day it started snowing, great big wet glops of snow, and it snowed and snowed and snowed for 5 days. For Grants Pass, it turned out to be the snow storm of the century and we were buried. The first few days the snow created a brand new playground for the dogs, and Bill and I got a kick out of it too, but then when it got up to Murphy's shoulders, it wasn't so much fun anymore for them or for us. It sure made for some great Kodak moments though.

This is the first photo I took of the snowstorm. It was 7:00 in the morning and perfectly silent in the forest. None of the critters were up and about yet so the snow in the driveway was pristine.

About an hour later, the snow stopped long enough to take these two photos of the front of our house. It had never looked prettier, all dusted in snow.

I took this photo standing to the right of the two trees at the corner of the house. It's our front side yard and our driveway as it winds down toward our gate.

This photo and the ones below were taken about 10:00 in the morning. We live right among the deer and turkeys who you see behind me in the clearing on our property, and that's Murphy between my legs. I love this photo. It's one of my favorite photos that Bill's ever taken.

Great photo of Bill in our back yard. Only two colors out there ... white and forest green. It was a beautiful backdrop for a photo of my handsome guy in his dark jacket.

Bill and Andi and Murphy had a great time romping in the snow. Little Andi has cotton ball fluff for fur and the snow stuck to her feet and created what looked like snow boots.

See Andi's little feet? Buried in boots made of snow. Off to the sink for a melt down!

Another great photo of Bill in our back yard. The tree behind him is a weeping blue cedar, my favorite tree on our property. It droops even without snow on it but here's it's totally covered.

This is a lot of snow on our back deck and this was only day two of the snowstorm. By the end of the fifth day the chairs actually looked like little automobiles buried in snow drifts.

What a beautiful morning! I'd just poured myself a cup of coffee and I looked out my kitchen window into the clearing on the back side of my property and even after 3 years, I'm still mesmerized by all of the deer and turkeys that come over every morning for breakfast.

— Bill —
We'll be celebrating our 35th anniversary this coming New Years Eve. Wow!

Staying home together for the last year and a half because of COVID hasn't been hard for us at all. Bill taught me about golf and I taught him how to cook. We're pals so everything's better together.

— Andi Pandi —
She's my treasure, my little shadow, and still the center of my world.
She owns my heart.

— Murphy —
My big black hunk of pure love. He's 14 now and has changed our lives in so many ways. He's proof positive that two dogs are better than one.

— Boo Boo —
I start every morning with Boo snuggling in my lap. You know how I like my morning coffee? With a little cream, a little sugar, and a whole lotta kitty!
