My Favorite Websites

from Lettering Delights
If you're into computer graphics or scrapbooking or making cards or anything like this, you're going to love Lettering Delights. There are a lot of great fonts on this website but what I love it for is the alphabets. Each letter is actually a .png image and most of them now are transparent so they're really easy to use. And now, without using your own graphics software, you can create a word right on the Lettering Delights website and then save it to a file on your computer. If you know your way around your computer, it's really easy and lots of fun. Check out the website next time you have a few minutes and you'll be as hooked as I am.

Michael Moore’s Website is one of my all-time favorites. There isn't an honest American standing who can deny that Michael Moore has been right all along. You might not like his style, but regardless, you gotta admit that Michael Moore tells it like it is. And the fact that Scooter Libby was indicted today just gives more credence to everything that Michael Moore has said. Not only was this war unjustified, but the whole administration from Bush and Cheney on down tried to cover up their lack of justification once their backs were against the wall. What a disgusting chapter in American history. I think we should all watch Farenheit 911 again. Everyone needs to see if from today's prespective.

BeautifulPerfumes.com — Everyone loves it when someone says, "Ummmm, you smell so good!" and trying out a new fragrance is always irresistible. Unfortunately the fragrance counters in department stores are as expensive as they are lovely to look at, but beautifulperfumes.com is a great alternative. They carry every fragrance you can think of, even many discontinued fragrances, and their prices are just about half of department store prices, and delivery is free on orders of $100 or more. I found this website in 2004 and it's still one of my favorites.

Sherpa's Pet Trading Company — My little cockapoo dog, Bailey, travels with me everywhere in his Sherpa bag.  If you have a little pet, you can take him or her with you when you travel too, just click on this Sherpa link and see how. Then go to my Photo pages of Bailey if you haven't already been there — see Bailey and me on the go, and read how I took Bailey with me in his Sherpa bag on a 3-day jury trial (bet that was a first!).

Fun and Games

The Geography of the Middle East — Sad as it may seem, someone wrote that war is God's way of teaching us geography.  Remember how we were all glued to the television watching 24/7 coverage of Gulf War II?  How much did you learn about the geography of that part of the world?  And how much do you remember? Here's a really fun game to play that will answer that question in a few minutes.

Can You Name the State? — Do you remember that puzzle game you played when you were a kid where you put little wooden states in a big wooden outline of the United States until you had it completely filled in? That would be easy today, wouldn't it. Now try this game of name the states. I've lived and traveled all of the U.S. and I thought this would be a piece of cake. What a surprise!

The Dancing Skeleton — This is such an addictive thing to play with! When the site loads, turn up your sound, click the anti-gravity box in the upper right corner and move your mouse in little tiny increments. Then try to make the guy sit upright with his knees folded, or lay down flat with his arms and legs extended forward, or do a handstand, etc. This sounds silly but you get hooked trying to see what you can make him do. p.s. Is it a him or a her?

You Type It, She'll Say It! — The amount of fun you can have on this text-to-speech site is limited only by what you can think up in your head. You can start your morning with "Have a great day!" or tuck yourself in with a "Nitey nite!" This technology is so cool that I'm thinking of adding my own character to own my website just for laughs. What a hoot that would be!

Fido Puzzle — I don't know why it's called "Fido Puzzle" but this a mind-reading game and it's really a good one. Once you click on the screen to start the game, you then have to click on the little guy thumbing in the lower right corner of the screen to move to the next screen, and so on and so on. Plan on playing this game several times. Unless you’re some sort of whiz kid it takes awhile to figure out how it’s done.

Killer Quiz — Gruesome game! You look at photos of very ordinary men and get to decide if they're a programming language inventor or a serial killer. None of them look like serial killers so you’ve gotta know they’re Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde kind of guys. Creepy! How many can you guess?
