Buying Condoms

A very elderly gentleman walks into a drug store looking to buy some condoms. He finds a box that costs $5.00 and takes it up to the counter.

The clerk rings it up and says, "That'll be $5.40."

The man asks, "What's the extra 40 cents for?"

The clerk says, "It's for the tax."

"Hell," says the old gentleman, "I thought you just rolled them on!"
