Our door's always open and coffee's always brewing and it's paradise here because the sky is always blue and the sun is always shining and we don't have any bugs or humidity in the summer or snow or sleet in the winter so come over and we'll barbeque and top off the night with a dip in the spa and a glass or two of wine. It doesn't get
better than this!

New Year's Day!

How could it be 2011?

I didn't have time to ponder this too long
because I cooked all day making bbq'd ribs, baked beans,
scalloped potatoes, scalloped apples,
salad and homemade bread,
and blackberry pie with vanilla ice cream for dessert.

(umm umm umm . . . we eat well)

SUNDAY, JANUARY 2ND, 2011

A good afternoon for a movie so we went to see The King's Speech.

We're so in awe of such incredible actors.

Colin Firth was mermerizing

and how could Geoffrey Rush be
the fantasmagorical pirate Barbossa
in The Pirates of the Caribbean

and then become the marvelous Dr. Lionel Logue
in The King's Speech?

SATURDAY, JANUARY 15TH, 2011

We went to see The Social Network today since we missed it first time around.

It was playing at a theatre we'd never been to before and laughingly I asked if I qualified for a senior discount. The ticket seller laughed right back and said, "No... the tickets here are only $3.00!"

What a surprise birthday present!

Loved the movie but we both left thinking "that Mark Zuckerberg's a JERK!" When I got home I Googled the movie and read that he's really not a jerk, they just embellished his personality to make the movie more interesting. Ok, I like him now.

Afterwards we went to
The Cheesecake Factory
for dinner.

We've been going there since it was a bakery in a little store not much bigger than a closet next door to the building we worked in at Dataproducts on DeSoto Avenue in Woodland Hills, California.

The Cheesecake Factory . . . what a success story!

TUESDAY, JANUARY 25TH, 2011

After 11 years I got a new pair of glasses and a new look!
It's the little things that make life so much fun.
